Asides from running Tharwa Valley Forge, we are lucky to be the current custodians of the historic Cuppacumbalong Homestead. We’re hard at work restoring Cuppa which means we’re constantly unearthing pieces of history dating back to the 1850’s.

A little while back we unearthed some old fence posts which turned out to be beautifully figured pieces of Blakely’s Red Gum. Based on their location, they are around 150 years old. As a critically endangered species, this timber is hard to come by these days.

We’ve incorporated this timber into a range of carbon steel farmhouse kitchen knives that reflect the cutlery in use at Cuppacumbalong in the 19th Century.

The knives include a Chef’s pair (large chef knife and a medium utility knife), breakdown pair (butcher’s blade and boning knife), cleaver, and a gardener’s harvesting tool.

These will eventually be available individually or as sets via the Cuppacumbalong website.
