Build your own English Longbow and learn archery. Experience blacksmithing by making your own decorative piece. Forge hot steel into a set of kitchen knives that will last a lifetime.
Tharwa Valley Forge is proud to provide Innovative Community Participation programs funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Thanks to the NDIS, people may take part in our scheduled courses or attend a custom course designed to achieve a specific goal.
For over a decade we have been helping people reconnect with traditional crafts. We help people discover the joy of creating something durable and useful with their own hands.
No experience with tools is necessary. Our professional full-time instructors guide attendees towards achieving a meaningful result. Our staff are there to teach and to correct mistakes, but the achievement is all the attendees own.
Our staff come from a diverse background and include social workers, ex-military, ex-police, and outdoor educators. We have lived-experience of disability, both physical and mental, and are adept at accommodating participants without compromising the meaningful nature of their experience.
