Integral Key Hole Bolster Masterclass
This is a rare opportunity to spend time with one of the great modern knifemakers Rodrigo Sfreddo, working on his integral keyhole hilt constuction.
Some pre-work will be required to save valuable time on the course. Information will be sent out in advance on what you will need to make prior.
The course fee includes accommodation and meals for the four days, in addition to the tuition, equipment use, materials and PPE.
Born in 1974 and had sold his first knife at the age 13.
Whilst working as a janitor, Rodrigo continued making knives and refining his craft.
In 2001 Rodrigo was elected as Vice President of the Brazilian Cutlery Society and became a member of the American Bladesmith Society shortly there after.
From 2003 Rodrigo started winning multiple awards at knife shows, regularly winning best in show and best knife awards at the Sao Paulo and Brazil Cutlery Hall Knife Shows.
In 2006 Rodrigo gained Journeyman status and by 2009 he had started teaching at the Brazilian School of Cutlery.
In 2009 Rodrigo became the first Latin American accredited ABS Mastersmith, winning the B.R. Hughes Award for best knife submitted by a Mastersmith candidate at Blade Show
Rodrigo has built a reputation for forging carbon stainless steel knives, specialising in forged integral knives using Turkish twist damascus (and other complex patterns) and is credited as the creator of the Keyhole Hilt, a new way of putting grip on a knife
